STAIL Editor Picks: The Right Sunscreen For Your Skin Type

Never forget to wear sunscreen every day!
by STAIL Team

Of the many types of sunscreen in the market, the big question is: What is the right sunscreen for you? Even in overcast days, the sun’s rays are always upon us. Regular exposure to the sun, particularly during the hottest times of the day (10 am to 4 pm) can take a toll on our skin.

Of the three different types of UV radiation, take note of UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays are responsible for blemishes, wrinkles, and signs of aging. UVB rays penetrate glass and contribute to signs of aging as well as the development of skin cancer.

Sunscreen with SPF (sun protection factor) shields your skin from the harmful effects of UVA and UVB rays. Even a low level SPF helps. According to experts, SPF 15 alone can block 93 percent of UBV rays!

Now back to the burning question: So what is the right sunscreen for you? You be the judge of that–take your cue from your skin type!

Dry Skin

Go for sunscreen with a cream-like consistency and avoid those with alcohol as it can dry your skin. Our pick: Innisfree Intense UV Protection Cream Triple Care SPF 50+. Formulated with a thick texture that is non-drying nor sticky, this mineral sunscreen doubles as an oil-absorbing makeup base.

The main problem for people with oily skin is worrying about the sebum supposedly found in sunscreen. Contrary to popular belief, sunscreen does not make your face oily; you just need to find the right one for you. We recommend Dear Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence. Light and non-greasy, this sunscreen with SPF50 doesn’t leave a white cast.

📚Fontes: @ratzillacosme e @theklog 😍 . . #protetorsolar #biore #biorefacemilk #sunscreen #cosmeticosjaponeses #japanesecosmetics

Even the so-called blessed or lucky ones can also experience breakouts and irritations with the wrong sunscreen.  Biore UV Perfect Face Milk absorbs sebum, leaving you with a matte, shine-free complexion. Use this sunscreen with SPF50 as your makeup base!

Combination Skin

{missha all around safe block essence sun milk spf 50} I've gotten so much better at using sunblock regularly over the past few years (read somewhere that it was THE most important step of your #skincareroutine and was convinced). took this new (to me) product on vacation because the #rodanandfields sunblock I've been slowly using up didn't have enough for the entire vacay. I've been pretty consistently using/preferring physical sunscreens for a while (for heath/safety reasons) and only in my trip down the kbeauty wormhole did I buy a "chemical" sunscreen instead (I will say I've been gifted others as well). there's a decent amount of controversy over the pros and cons of so-called physical vs chemical sunscreens that I won't get into… I do think it's probably biologically safer to use physicals but don't mind using chemicals from time to time (like this one from missha), mostly because they just apply easier and are more enjoyable to use (smoother, thinner, more blendable, less white cast). fav sunscreen recs, please! . . . #missha #misshasunblock #misshasunmilk #misshasunscreen #sunblock #sunscreen #misshaallaroundsafeblock #misshaallaroundsafeblocksunmilk #misshaallaroundsafeblockessencesunmilk #sokoglamhaul #beauty #skincare #beautyjunkie #skincarejunkie #beautyobsessed #skincareobsessed #skincareaddiction #kbeauty #kskincare #sokoglam #notsponsored #beautyreview #skincarereview

People with combination skin don’t necessarily have a balance of oily and dry skin; some have a more oily complexion, others more dry. Missha All Around Safe Block Essense Sun Milk is a cooling and moisturizing sunscreen with SPF50 that stays on even after you sweat or take a dip in the pool.

Aging Skin

Our skin starts to wrinkle by age 25, which is why we need to use anti-aging products as soon as possible! Deoproce Stem Cell Daily De-Aging Cream with SPF50 not only protects your skin from the sun, it manages the development of wrinkles and firms skin with each day of use.
