Y Now? Art & Healing Festival (in a Time of Critical Disruption) was the first event that brought together a series of thematic activities from the complementing fields of art and healing.
Held from May 24 to June 23 at the Y Space of the Yuchengco Museum in Makati City, the festival, which was open to the public, allowed people to pause from their busy lives, destress, experience inner healing, and perhaps even learn more about themselves.
Among the activities offered during the festival were private oracle readings, Filipino traditional hilot, different kinds of healing and meditation circles for kids and adults alike, art and theater therapy workshops, dance and drum workshops, sound healing, group healing, and movement. There were also insightful and holistic living talks that focused on homes that heal, self-love, and more.
The festival couldn’t have come at a better time. Studies reveal how a great majority of people in the city are under constant stress. Suicide rates, particularly among the youth, are also on the rise. Hopefully, we see more events like this in the future.
