Topping charts, fronting billboards, and hitting runways, Barbadian singer, actress, and businesswoman Rihanna just keeps the ball rolling. Her latest venture? Fenty Fashion.

In January 2019, the world of fashion lit up when Women’s Wear Daily reported that Rihanna was brewing something big with LVMH, the French multinational luxury goods conglomerate and producer of the world’s finest fashion brands.
In May, LVMH formally introduced Fenty Maison to the world. In a press release, LVMH described it as a brand that is “centered on Rihanna, developed by her, and takes shape with her vision in terms of ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories, including commerciality and communication of the brand.”
LVMH added that the new Rihanna collection is its first major fashion brand headed by a woman of color.
Since Christian Lacroix in 1987, Fenty is the first LVMH brand launched from scratch.
In an interview with Vogue, the singer revealed that the items are exactly what she wants to see in her closet. “I often walk into stores and I’m like, ‘I love this, but I wish it was more like that, or in a different color or in a different fabric’ — and now I get to do it,” Rihanna said.
Rihanna also said that her Fenty fashion line is the product of everything she has learned so far. “I started off by being an endorser of brands, lending my likeness and my face to fashion brands, but this is totally different.”
