The Versace Pre-Fall 2019 show was a throwback affair, with designs reminiscent of the ‘90s—most notably the safety-pin gown, but now with a more modern look and feel to it.

Worn by actress Elizabeth Hurley when she accompanied then boyfriend Hugh Grant to the premiere of his romantic comedy Four Weddings and a Funeralin 1994, and often referred to as “That Dress,” the racy black number held up in parts by safety pins was reimagined as an asymmetrical gown with sheer cutouts adorned with gold safety pins. Other showstoppers were vinyl dresses that came in three vibrant colors, zebra prints, and silk dresses.
